We have a broad range of clients covering sectors from online gaming to luxury car brands and are an established industry participant.

Role

As part of our growth and evolution a new opportunity has arisen for a Web/Application Developer to join UKSolutions. This varied and challenging role will be working primarily with PHP and MVC frameworks, MySQL, web design and deployment technologies. You will be responsible for the design, deployment, ongoing maintenance and support of customer and internal web applications.

The position can either be based at our Studley facility (B80 7BG) or London office and suits a person who is self-motivated and used to working individually to deliver tools and functionality into the business.You will be expected to collate and interpret business requirements, produce specifications for sign off and develop appropriate tools to support the continued growth of the business. You will also need to manage and prioritise your work load to successfully deliver high quality work packages to stakeholders across the business and in support of our customer base.Experience of PHP frameworks such as CakePHP, management of legacy code, and a security focus is essential.

The role will include an on-call provision and therefore the applicant will need to be within a reasonable travelling distance and require their own transport for occasions when public transport may not be available (e.g. due to time of day).

Principle Accountabilities

Required Competencies: Web/Application Development

OOP PHP
Expertice with MVC frameworks (such as CakePHP)
MySQL, SQLe
Some Perl experience
HTML, CSS, Javascript, Java and AJAX
Graphics and Flash manipulation
Linux/Windows

Helpful but not essential skills

Experience with YUI Javascript library
Blackberry application development
GIT Version control

Competencies: general

Competency with skills required for the core roles outlined above
Have a flexible approach to work and be able to handle a number of tasks simultaneously
Be dedicated, honest and reliable to the business
Be discreet and respect confidentiality both within and outside the business

Remuneration

25-40k per annum depending on experience and ability, with 25 day annual leave allowance (where up-to 5 days may be selected for you by the company), plus statutory days.
